This page will describe a project to modify the watch with 3D-printed dials (two types, one made from printer filament/resin and another from paper) supplied by my friend in San Francisco. One of the best thing that came in the mail during pandemic, and a total surprise. So far, I have not done any mods, but I will. Here are the parts:
3D-printed watch dial with sunken chapter for the numerals. I need to find out the typeface, but it's a sans-serifs stylel, but with some nice curves.
Here is one of the paper dials he made. Black, thick paper with embossed dial design.
Dial detail. Paint could be applied to the raised. numerals.
Here are the paper dials in a glassine envelope. The envelope was embossed for decoration, using one of the resin dials. This was really a beautiful envelope, because of material itself, which I have not encountered in some years, and because of the emboss.
Three of the resin dials in another glassine envelope. I think these auto-embossed the envelope, while in the mail.
The letter with the items were mailed with these stamps, which I really love.
That's it for now. Hopefully soon I will use one of the Diaso watches, and make something new out of it. If you want too see how others have modified these, not by changing dials, but by adding subtle paint and other colors to the hands and dial markings, visit the page on the watch. Another user has filled one with oil! It seems to be a watch suitable for experimentation. More later...
