1971 TIMEX / WDP Minnie Mouse Mechanical Watch.

This is odd, to me, as all other Minnie Mouse like this do not have the seconds hand.
Hi, this is Alan. Contact info below. Thank you for your continued interest in these watches. Here is a mechanical "Minnie Mouse" watch by TIMEX, manufactured in 1971. It is a medium-size watch, about 32 mm across the middle. Mine has a seconds hand, but I can't find any other examples that have the seconds hand, which is really odd, to me.

Compared to Mickey mouse, who seems to be mostly red, yellow, black, and white, Minnie is missing the red, but has acquired pink and green. There is a flower in her hat. She is wearing a hat. She looks more interesting than Mickey Mouse.
Here I have the Minnie Mouse TIMEX on a Vietnam-era green nylon "military style" one-piece strap. May seem like an odd choice. It probably is. But there is a kind of history (which I'll hopefully write about soon," of Mickey Mouse watches worn by hippies during the counterculture days of the late 1960s and early 1070s, in the United States. I think it was often worn on a big-ass leather band, much wider than the watch. I don't have one of those, but I do have a bunch of these green nylon ones, and somehow it fits, to me. Codes stamped into the inside caseback with black ink. The 71 is for 1971, that is pretty clear from looking at other watches with ink stamps where that number corresponds appropriately. But the other two, who knows. Some would say the 9 means September, 1971. But I don't know if this is correct.
The dial is bright and vivid, with good contrast. Minnie looks happy, and has long eyelashes. Her shoes look a little creepy to me for some reason. Black abyss where her feet just vanish. The lettering for the hours is kind of whimsical, and has a nice hand-drawn quality. Here you can see I traded the Vietnam band for a metal one.
Most of these TIMEX / DISNEY collaborations will have either © WDP, or © WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS somewhere on the dial. Disney does not mess around. Some years ago, I was trying to sell on ebay the below Mickey Mouse Watch. It was obviously a bootleg watch, not a real Disney product. Mickey Mouse looks deranged and a bit jaundiced. Well, it was probably only a few minutes that the auction was live, and then it was taken down. I was sent an email from ebay telling me that I had violated this and that, and my auction was taken down for forgery or something. I'm still laughing about that.
1971, movement # 24, and looks like the model number is 16011. This code, usually at the bottom, is at the top of the dial, and is hidden from view until the dial is removed.
I still am mystified about why my watch has seconds hand (and of course a center seconds post). I've seen many pics of this watch, but can't find another with a seconds hand. Does anyone know why? BTW, the hour hand has faded a bit and is darker than the minutes hand, as you can see pretty clearly here. The colors are really fun.
