Ultra-rare mechanical digital watch from TIMEX.
What?! Well, firstly, this is not my watch. It belongs to Guy, who lives in England. He won it at an auction. Here is Guy's Instagram.

I have never seen this watch. The case looks very similar to a ~ 1965 Timex Marlin! Have a look, and note the lugs and the cutout along the case, for the crown. You can see pictures of the case better in some of Guy's Instagram post.

If anyone knows anything about this, of if you've seen it, please let me know!

This is quite interesting, far better than the average "mechanical digital" watches that exist, most of which are jump hour. (This is not jump hour, but that's not the most interesting part about it.) The really great feature is that rather than the numbers moving underneath a window, the number wheel is fixed in place, and it is the dial with the cut-out window that moves!

See this video, where Guy demonstrates it.

This is quite ingenious, in that with a moving window, you can kind of "see the time at a glance" better than the traditional mechanical digital watches, where the window is fixed (usually at 12, sometimes at 3). Since the window moves the the hour position, you can instantly see "it's around 4 o'clock" when the window is centered around the 4 position. While to tell the exact time, you'll need to truly read the numbers in the window, where little black and orange marks indicates center, but this "visual cue to the approximate time" is really wonderful.

Well, if anyone knows about this please contact me and also if you're on IG maybe leave a message for Guy, as he's I'm sure just as interested in his watch.

Thanks.

I hope you will like it.
